WELLINGTON, Florida, Jan. 20, 2016–Mark Bellissimo announced Wednesday the purchase by Wellington Equestrian Partners of The Wanderers Club, a private golf, tennis and dining facility near Palm Beach International Equestrian Center that hosts the Adequan Global Dressage Festival and the Winter Equestrian Festival.

Mark heads up Wellington Equestrian Partners that owns the Wellington show grounds and organizes the dressage, jumping and hunter competitions in Wellington, as well as through other partnerships owns and operates Tryon International Equestrian Center in North Carolina and the Colorado Horse Park that will host the 2016 North American Junior & Young Rider Championships. He created the Central Park Horse Show in New York and jumping at historic Mar a Lago in Palm Beach that was canceled this year when torrential rains soaked the grass arena.

“The Wanderers Club is a special facility and property in Wellington,” Mark said. “With its tournament-quality golf course, tennis, pool, fitness, dining and banquet facilities, we are confident that we will continue to attract both residents and seasonal equestrians as club members. We will also be providing a shuttle from PBIEC to The Wanderers Club so that access to the facilities is quick and easy for club members.”

The club was owned by John Goodman, who also built and owned International Polo Club in Wellington, but is now serving a 16-year prison term for the 2010 driving under the influence manslaughter death of a young man.

The Wanderers has a par-72 18-hole golf course, six lighted Har-Tru tennis courts for day and night play, an Olympic-size pool, a children’s pool and three restaurants on about 40 acres (16Ha).
