STUTTGART, Germany, Nov. 20, 2015–Sanneke Rothenberger rode Wolke Sieben, her 2012 European Young Rider Championship team gold medal partner, to victory in the Piaff Förcderpreis Final for Under-25 riders at the Stuttgart German Masters Friday.
Sanneke and the 16-year-old Hanoverian mare scored 70.500 per cent for the win with Juliette Piotrowski on Sir Diamond second on 69.300 per cent and Annabel Frenzen on Cristobal third on 68.520 per cent.
Sanneke, now 23 years old, was aged 17 when she and Wolke Sieben led the German team to the gold medal at the 2012 Europeans.
Sanneke won the opening Grand Prix Thursday ahead of Friday’s final that was restricted to eight qualifying combinations. The event, a national competition, is named after Liselott Linsenhoff’s Olympic gold medal mount Piaff.
