Continuing the resurgence in what had been a career marked more by injury setbacks than successes until last August’s European Championships Freestyle bronze medal, Beatriz and the 14-year-old Westfalen gelding scored 78.440 per cent for the win.
Germany’s Isabell Werth, undoubtedly the most popular rider at this prestigious indoor event, placed second on Don Johnson FRH on 77.700 per cent with her European Championships team mate Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Unee BB, this year’s World Cup Final bronze medalist, third on 76.960 per cent.
Beatriz and Delgado, No. 7 in the world, will be seeking their second consecutive World Cup Freestyle Saturday following their success in the qualifier at Lyon, France last month that kicked off their campaign for a start in the individual championship finale in Gothenburg, Sweden next April.
