MAASTRICHT, Netherlands, Oct. 30, 2015–Diederik van Silfhout rode the nine-year-old Bonzanjo to victory in the Maastricht CDI3* Grand Prix Friday, the first career international win for the Netherlands partnership and a personal best score since beginning Big Tour less than seven months ago.

The Dutch rider and the KWPN gelding scored 73.480 per cent for the win over Germany’s Sönke Rothenberger on Favourit on 72.500 per cent. Sönke celebrated his 21st birthday earlier this month.

The Netherlands’ Patrick van der Meer on Zippo was third on 72.280 per cent.

Diederik and Bonzanjo (Jazz x Contango) competed at small tour in 2014 and moved up to Grand Prix in March this and were on the Dutch team at the Nations Cup in Hagen, Germany.

The former European Championships Junior and Young Rider star competed Arlando on the Dutch silver medal team at the World Games in 2014 and on the gold medal team at the European Championships in Aachen, Germany in August.
