MOSCOW, Sept. 19, 2015–Inessa Merkulova and Mister X took the Moscow Grand Prix Freestyle for the third straight World Cup victory to put the Russian pair at the top of the Central European League to qualify for a start in the 2016 Final of the annual world championship.
The victory by Inessa and the 11-year-old Russian-bred Trakehner gelding on a score of 75.85 per cent was also the fourth straight for the duo that competed in the World Cup Final in Las Vegas as well as the World Games in Germany a month ago.
The third straight CEL win gave the duo a total of 60 points and elevated them to the top of the standings for the league that will receive two invitations to the Final when it is staged in Gothenburg, Sweden next March.
Tatiana Dorofeeva on Kartsevo Upperville who also competed in Las Vegas for Russia placed second on 72.500 per cent to hold on to third place in the standings. Hanna Karasiova of Belarus on Arlekino in third on 71.400 per cent.
Russia’s Elena Sidneva on Romeo Star that had led the standings before Sunday were awarded 71.130 per cent for fourth place and dropped to second place with 54 points
