Jessica von Bredow-Werndl & Zaire Capture Donaueschingen CDI4* Special for 4th Straight Win

DONAUESCHINGEN, Germany, Sept. 20, 2015–Jessica von Bredow-Werndl rode the rapidly developing Zaire to victory in the Meggle Champions CDI4* Grand Prix Special Sunday while Denmark’s Daniel Bachmann-Andersen riding Blue Hors Hotline in their first international Big Tour event was a close runnerup.

Jessica and the 11-year-old KWPN mare scored 73.706 per cent for the fourth straight win by the pair that began their Grand Prix career 11 months ago. Jessica rode Unee BB to third place at the World Cup Final in Las Vegas in April and the duo was on the German bronze medal team at the European Championships a month ago.

Daniel Bachmann-Andersen riding Hotline, a 12-year-old Hanoverian stallion, in their first CDI scored 73.353 per cent for second place. The pair placed third in the Grand Prix Saturday.

Daniel rode Blue Hors Loxana on the Danish team at the European Championships last month and is campaigning to qualify as an individual combination for the 2016 Olympic Games. If Denmark can qualify at least three individuals the country can form a team for Rio de Janeiro.

Germany’s Beatrice Buchwald and the 10-year-old Oldenburg mare Weihegold OLD were third on 71.804 per cent in the third international show for the pair. Beatrice and Weihegold won the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal, the German championship for seven to nine-year-old dressage horses at Prix St. Georges, in 2013 and a year later captured the Louisdor Prize, the German Young Horse Grand Prix Championship.
