LEXINGTON, Kentucky, July 30, 2015–Riders are lining up for the United States Young and Developing Horse Championships and Pony through Under-25 nationals to be held in Wayne, Illinois in three weeks after the closing of qualifying competitions across the country.
The combination of three age divisions– four, five and six–in the Young Horse Championships and developing Prix St. Georges and Grand Prix horses will be held for the first time with the Pony, Junior, Young Rider and Under-25 national championships.
The Intermediate and Grand Prix National Championships that are usually the headline events of the Festival of Champions of all levels will be staged in Wellington, Florida Dec. 9-13.
A month earlier, the U.S. Dressage Finals will be held in Lexington, Kentucky a month earlier. The U.S. Dressage Finals are organized by the U.S. Dressage Federation as a championship of regional events and embrace amateurs.
The mix of championships organized by the U.S. Equestrian Federation was the result of the Pan American Games of mixed Big and Small Tour combinations in July that were vital for the U.S. to earn a team start at the 2016 Olympic Games and the need to hold some championships during summer school vacation.
