HARTPURY, England, July 12, 2015–Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro posted their second highest Grand Prix Special score of 87.765 per cent coming within a whisker of the British pair’s world record just a month before the European Championships.

Charlotte and Valegro competed at the Hartpury Festival of Dressage as only the third show of the year for the 13-year-old KWPN gelding, the other two being a qualifier to be able to go to the World Cup Final and the annual world championship where they successfully defended their title in Las  Vegas. The score was their best since setting the world record at Hagen, Germany three years ago. The pair hold the Grand Prix and Freestyle records, too.

Fiona Bigwood, Charlotte’s compatriot, on Atterupgaards Orthilia placed second on 75.992 per cent with Portugal’s Gonçalo Carvalho on Batuta third on 71.882 per cent.
