HAMBURG, Germany, May 16, 2015–Russia’s Inessa Merkulova rode the spectacular Mister X to victory in the Hamburg CDI4* Dressage Derby Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday on a personal best career score.

The pair scored 78.400 per cent for the win and eclipsed their previous best mark of 76.911 per cent set at the World Cup Final in Las Vegas a month ago where they won the hearts of fans for a flamboyant performance.

Germany’s Hubertus Schmidt on Finally placed second on 75.300 with Christoph Koschel on Tiesto in the duo’s first competition since the Florida winter circuit were third on 73.800 per cent.

Inessa and the 11-year-old Russian-bred Trakehner gelding by Egeus competed at the 2014 World Games as well as the World Cup Finals in 2014 and 2015.

German Olympian Anabel Balkenhol on Dablino FRH won the Grand Prix Special with a score of 76.392 per cent over Spain’s Morgan Barbançon Mestre on Vitana V on 73.255 per cent and Germany’s Hubertus Schmidt on Sammy Deluxe on 70.392 per cent.
