DOHA, Qatar, Mar. 7, 2015–Sweden’s Patrik Kittel on his Olympic mount Watermill Scandic won the €100,000 (US$173,000) Al Shaqab CDI5* Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday, edging Carl Hester on Nip Tuck into the runnerup spot.
Patrik and the 16-year-old KWPN stallion scored 77.275 per cent for the win with the British World Games team silver combination of Carl and Nip Tuck second on 76.725 per cent. Denmark’s Anders Dahl on Wie Atlantico was third on 75.300 per cent.
Carl and Nip Tuck, an 11-year-old KWPN gelding, won the Grand Prix Friday in the third year of the CHI that offered total prize money for dressage of €160,000 (US$173,000), the second richest non-championship dressage event in the world behind the Adequan Global Dressage Festival CDI5* in Wellington, Florida.
