WELLINGTON, Florida, Jan. 8, 2015–Allison Brock on Rosevelt captured the first international Grand Prix of the year when the American pair won the World Cup Grand Prix Thursday, narrowly edging out Sweden’s Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfvén on Divertimento.

Ali, riding the 13-year-old Hanoverian stallion owned by Claudine and Fritz Kundrun, scored 71.000 per cent for the third straight win. The pair took the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Special at Dressage at Devon in Pennsylvania last September in their only international competitions of the year.

Tinne, Sweden’s top rider and a multi-Olympian, was scored at 70.960 per cent on the 13-year-old Westfalen gelding that she began showing Grand Prix just oveer three years ago.

Mikala Gundersen on My Lady, the Wellington-based Danish World Games partnership, placed third on 70.320 per cent, the same score as her Danish team mates Lars Petersen and Mariett.

Ali, based out of Wellington and Keswick, Virginia, spent more than a year working with Kyra Kyrklund at her training center in England in developing Rosevelt and other horses owned by the Kundruns.

Germany’s Michael Klimke, competing in the United States for the first time, dominated the Prix St. Georges, winning the class on Fineliner 2 with a score of 70.105 per cent and placing second on Djamba Djokiba on 69.632 per cent.

World Games rider Megan Lane on San D’Or placed third on 69.211 per cent to lead a trio of Canadians filling through fifth places in the first major competition of the year leading to the Pan American Games in Toronto in July. A single nation can qualify a team at the Pan Ams, where the Nations Cup is a unique format of mixed Big Tour and Small Tour squads.

Lisa Wilcox on Galant with a score of  67.947 per cent for sixth place was the only United States rider in the top nine.
