LEXINGTON, Kentucky, Nov. 6, 2014–Devon Kane rode Destiny to victory in a warmup Grand Prix Thursday, a day ahead of the start of the United States Dressage Finals in which about 500 riders from across America have entered for the second year of the championships.
Devon of Wellington, Florida and the 11-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding (Diamond Hit x Rubinstein) scored 70.100 per cent for the win in the national level Grand Ptix.
Barbara Breen-Gurley of Los Osos, California on Vindicator was second on 65.500 per cent and Elena Golubitsky of Pepper Pike, Ohio on Adeso C placed third on 65.050 per cent.
Devon and Destiny went to Europe this summer to continue training with German Olympian Hubertus Schmidt but a show schedule was scrapped when the horse was injured.
