LYON, France, Oct. 30, 2014–Adelinde Cornelissen on Jerich Parzival won the World Cup Grand Prix Thursday while Danielle Heijkoop on Kingsley Siro in their first competition since an injury kept them out of the world championships was in top form in taking third place.
The Grand Prix of the second leg of the World Cup Western European League was won by Adelinde of the Netherlands and the 17-year-old KWPN gelding with 78.620 per cent while Germany’s Ulla Salzgeber on Herzruf’s Erbe placed second on 77.440 per cent.
Danielle and the 15-year-old KWPN gelding were third on 77.120 per cent that was close to their best Grand Prix result before an injury knocked them off the Dutch World Equestrian Games team last summer.
The Freestyle Friday night will determine points to count toward the league standings in the race for a start at the World Cup Final in Las Vegas next April.
Adelinde and Parzival have won the title twice.
