Ulla Salzgeber & Herzruf’s Erbe Win Donaueshinghen CDI4* Grand Prix

DONAUESHINGHEN, Germany, Sept. 20, 2014–Ulla Salzgeber rode Herzruf’s Erbe to victory in the CDI4* Grand Prix Saturday, the first win in two years for the German pair.

The Olympic gold medal rider and the 15-year-old Rhinelander gelding scored 75.340 per cent in what was the third show of the year.

Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Unee BB, second reserve combination for Germany’s World Games team, placed second on 72.520 per cent with compatriot Sönke Rothenberger on Favourit third on 71.800 per cent.

The competition was the first CDI on Favourit for Sönke, the former European pony champion who is now 19 years old-old and a college business student. Favourit was ridden in both world and European chamionships by Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfvén for Sweden and acquired by the Rothenberger family two years ago for Sanneke to compete.
