VIENNA, Sept. 20, 2014– Victoria Max-Theurer and Blind Date posted their best ever score of 79.175 per cent to win the Vienna Dressage Masters CDI4* Saturday.
The result for the three-time Austrian Olympian and the 12-year-old Hanoverian mare was the second straight competition with a personal best, having logged 75.640 per cent in the Grand Prix two days earlier that was also their highest for that test. The Freestyle score surpassed their previous best of 77.950 per cent set at Cappeln, Germany two months ago.
Germany’s Katharina Birkenholz, the only non-Austrian in the Freestye, rode Don Androsso to second place on 73.100 per cent. Christian Schumach on Auheim’s Picardo was third on 71.875 per cent.
Vici has been riding Blind Date since June, 2012.
This was the eighth straight victory for the 28-year-old rider with Blind Date, six of the competitions in Austria and two at her family’s event at Cappeln, Germany.
She rode Augustin OLD, her main Big Tour mount, at last month’s World Equestrian Games placing sixth in all three Grand Prix events.
