DEAUVILLE, France, July 27, 2014–Marc Boblet and Noble Dream Concept SOL, France’s top ranked combination, won the Grand Prix Special Sunday to break the Australian grip on the Dress’in Deauville CDI3* Big Tour.

Marc and the 12-year-old Oldenburg mare, ranked 27th in the world, scored 71.549 per cent for their third Special victory this year.

Compatriot Alexandre Ayache on Lights of Londonderry placed second on 70.255 per cent while Portugal’s Carlos Pinto on Soberano III were third on 70.098 per cent.

The Australian cousins Lyndal Oatley on Sandro Boy and Kristy Oatley on Ronan along with Olympic and World Equestrian Games veteran Mary Hanna on Sancette dominated the Grand Prix and the Freestyle at this event, the second of two Aussie trials to select the team for the WEG in less than four weeks.

Maree Tomkinson and Diamantina, the fourth Australian combination remaining in the trials, scored 66.608 per cent to place 10th in the Special. The pair, top ranked in Australia to earn the spot in the European selection trials, scored 67.320 per cent for 21st place in Grand Prix Friday.
