ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, June 18, 2014–Edward Gal and Glock’s Voice led a Dutch sweep of the top three places in the CDI3* Grand Prix Wednesday, a day ahead of the Nations Cup that will see a top Dutch team perform.
Edward and the 12-year-old KWPN stallion scored 75.780 per cent while Diederik Van Silfhout on Arlando NH N.O.P. placed second on 74.300 per cent with Hans Peter Minderhoud and Glock’s Flirt third on 72.220 per cent.
Edward and Glock’s Undercover N.O.P., Adelinde Cornelissen and Jerich Parzival N.O.P., Danielle Heijkoop and Kingsley Siro N.O.P. and Hans Peter and Glock’s Johnson TN will make up the Netherlands team that could be the same as the squad to be selected for the World Equestrian Games in two months.
Other nations with teams are Belgium, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Sweden and the United States.
In the CDI3* Grand Prix, the hopes of Australia’s Jessica Greelish to ride Lancaster in her country’s World Equestrian Games selection trials were dashed when the pair scored 64.500 per cent, well short of the minimum requirement to go to the first of two Australian selection trials set for the Fritzens, Austria CDI4* in two weeks.
Alexandra Berns with Kings Legend, another Aussie combination seeking a slot in the selection trials, is entered in the CDI3* at Brno, Czech Republic this weekend.
The combinations that have qualified scores are Maree Tomkinson and Diamantina, Lyndal Oatley and Sandro Boy, Briana Burgess and La Scala, Hayley Beresford and Jaybee Alabaster, Mary Hanna and Sancette and Kristy Oatley on both Ronan and Louisa.
