HAMBURG, Germany, June 1, 2014–Lars Petersen of Denmark captured the German Dressage Derby CDI4* Grand Prix change of horses event Sunday with fellow Florida-based rider Mikala Münter Gundersen placing second.

Lars rode his own Willano, a 12-year-old Norwegian Warmblood gelding, in what he described as a “fun experience” then switched horses to ride Capri that Mikala had borrowed for the event and Deinhardt that was the mount of Sweden’s Minna Telde.

Mikala placed second and Minna third after the rotation of horses that was similar to jumping’s Final Four at world championships.
