Jason Brautigam, a marketing executive in the horse racing industry, will be the new Chief Executive of British Dressage, taking over from Amanda Bond who leaves next month to join the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Jason, 42, has been running his own marketing communications consultancy business for the past two years, with Goodwood Racecourse, Arena Racing Company and York Racecourse among clients. Prior to that, he was managing director for Totepool, responsible for totalizator betting at all 60 race tracks in the United Kingdom with revenue of £410 million (US$690 million). Previously, he ran sales and marketing at historic Ascot Racecourse.

“There’s a great opportunity to capitalize on the recent success of British riders to promote dressage to a wider audience and attract new supporters, whether as competitors, spectators or sponsors,” he said. “Although most of my career has been spent in horseracing to date, I will aim to bring some of the commercial knowledge gained elsewhere in the equestrian world to help British Dressage achieve its full potential.”
