WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 30, 2014–Lourdes Ariza and Naval Banamex won the Prix St. Georges for adult amateurs Sunday to finish a month of competion by the largest squad of Mexican dressage riders and horses to participate in the Florida winter circuit and expected to lead to a growing number of Central and South Ameicans to participate at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival.

“We have completed our visit on a high note,” Lourdes told dressge-news.com of the big influx of combinations from Mexico to add to the large numbers of Canadian, United States and European riders that have made the Global Dressage Festival the world’s major winter circuit.
This year, the third since the Wellington circuit was launched at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center’s Stadium complex, saw entries in international events set records for the Western Hemisphere.
Lourdes said that the group of riders were welcomed at the outstanding Wellington facility.
Next year is expected to see even bigger increases in riders from throughout the Americas as nations prepare for the Pan American Games in Toronto.
The Global Dressage Festival’s Nations Cup–the only non-championship event of its type in the Western Hemisphere–will be held at the end of March in 2015.
