International and national dressage will return to the Royal Windsor Horse Show in mid-May for the first time since the 2009 European Championships and the British show will debut as a CHI (Concours Hippique Internationale).

Fifteen competitors will be invited to take part–five from Britain and 10 from overseas–for the CDI3* Grand Prix the evening of Thursday, May 15 and the Freestyle the evening of Friday, May 16 at the event 20 miles (32km) outside London. Equestrian displays from the Household Cavalry and the King’s Troop, as well as the Pony Club Mounted Games, the Shetland Pony Grand National and an Arab Horse Display from Bahrain will also be stsged.

A new Advanced Medium Freestyle Dressage Championship named the Royal Windsor Freestyle Challenge will be held on Wednesday, May 14.

The 71st edition of the Royal Windsor Horse Show this year will also introduce CSI3* jumping to its already established international driving and endurance competitions.
