Midge Leitch, a former United States equestrian team veterinarian and on the staff of the world renowned University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center, died Friday after a long battle with cancer.
Midge, both highly respected and widely liked, traveled with U. S. equestrian teams to the Seoul, Atlanta and Sydney Olympics.
Midge trained as a surgeon, but focused primarily on performance horses for dressage, jumping, eventing and driving.
During her career, she operated private veterinary centers in eastern Pennsylvania and was a member of the Section of Sports Medicine and Imaging and served as the Clinician in Radiology at the Penn’s New Bolton Center in Kennett Square.
