GRAZ, Austria, Feb. 9, 2014–Dorothree Schneider and Silvano dominated the CDI4* with victories in both the Grand Prix and the Freestyle in only the second show for the German Olympian on the 15-year-old stallion.

Dorothee, team silver medalist at the London Games in 2012, and Silvano scored 76.750 per cent for the Freestyle win with Austria’s Victoria Max-Theurer on Eichendorff second on 76.400 per cent and fellow Austrian Christian Schumach on Auheim’s Picardo third on 72.550 per cent.

In the Grand Prix on Friday, Dorothee and Silvano produced a winning result of 71.660 percent, with Austrians Peter Gmoser on Two to Tango second on 70.720 per cent and Vicci and Eichendorff third on 70.520 per cent.

The Grand Prix Special Saturday was won by Germany’s Matthias Kempkes and Riccoletto with 70.196 per cent while Peter Gmoser and Two to Tango were second on 69.804 per cent and Martin Hauptmann and Frechdachs H third on 65.980 per cent.

“Start twice and win twice,” said Dorothee after the Freestyle, “that’s wonderful.

“For me this is a very, very special moment today. I was wondering if I should go to Graz or not and I’m glad I went. Great conditions, a great audience.”

Dorothee rode Silvano in their first CDI at Oldenburg last November. Sweden’s Patrik Kittel rode Silvano in 2011 and 2012 with several high placings in CDIs.
