FRANKFURT, Germany, Dec. 22–Brigitte Wittig and the 10-year-old gelding Balmoral W on Sunday won the final of the Lousidor Prize, Germany’s circuit for developing Grand Prix horses aged eight to 10 years. Valentina Truppa and Fixdesign Eremo del Castegno took the CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle.
Brigitte and the Westfalen by Wolfram Wittig’s Breitling W scored 73.894 per cent to claim the final of the series of five qualifying events beginning in spring and leading to the final at the Frankfuter Festhalle.
Nadine Capellmann and Dark Dynamic placed second on 70.936 per cent and Helen Langehanenberg and Rohjuwel OLD in third on 69.000 per cent with a German sweep of the top seven places.
Valentina of Italy won the CDI4* Freestyle on 79.475 per cent over Marcela Krinke-Susmelj of Switzerland and Smeyers Lazander second on 75.000 per cent.
Germany’s Jenny Lang and Loverboy were third on 74.200 per cent. The 26-year-old began the CDI career with Loverboy earlier this year and rode on Germany’s Nations Cup team at Hickstead, England.
