SALZBURG, Austria, Dec. 6 2013– Italy’s Valentina Truppa and Fixdesign Eremo del Castegna won the Grand Prix to qualify for the Freestyle at the Pappas Amadeus CDI5* Friday.
Valentina and the 12-year-old Italian-bred gelding (Rohdiamany x Weltmeyer) scored 75.021 per cent for their sixth win in 15 starts this year.
Isabell Werth of Germany and El Santo NRW were second on 74.915 per cent and Sweden’s Patrik Kittel and Toy Story third on 73.404 per cent.
Victoria Max-Theurer, the home town favorite, did not start Augustin OLD in what would have been the debut at Salzburg for the 13-year-old Oldenburg stallion that Vici rode at the 2012 Olympics and the 2013, 2011 and 2009 European Championships. She said the horse was not eating well and was unfit to compete.
