TRUJILLO, Peru, Nov. 22, 2013–Sixteen combinations compete in team dressage at the Bolivarian Games Saturday, with the three nations with teams are guaranteed medals while eventing finishes up with jumping following the cross country on Friday after which Ecuador held a commanding lead.
Colombia, Ecuador and Peru will compete with teams in dressage while Bolivia, Venezuela and Guatemala are starting individuals will compete as individuals.
The Nations Cup for dressage is at FEI Junior Team level on Saturday with individual competition at FEI Junior Preliminary level scheduled for Sunday at Club Hipico Militar.
Medals will be awarded to the top three teams and to the top three individuals.
Maribel Alonso de Quinzaños of Mexico is president of the ground jury with Marian Cunningham of Peru, Lilo Fore of the United States, Cara Whitham of Canada and Gabriel Armando of Argentina as members.
Carlos Narváez on Que Loco was the leading rider for Ecuador with a clean cross country to help the team to a total of 169.1 while Colombia was second on 235.6 and Peru in on 245. Veneuzuela and Guatemala are in fourth and fifth places, respectively.
