The United States Young and Developing Horse 2014 Championships was confirmed by the U.S. Equestrian Federation Tuesday for Wayne, Illinois next Aug. 20-24. It will not immediately be incorporated into new championships of several disciplines to be launched next year.
The Young Horse Dressage Program for four, five and six-year-old horses promotes the importance of selective breeding and correct training of horses in the United States, and encourages participation of breeders, riders, and trainers of young horses in dressage competition.
It has been held at the Lamplight Equestrian Center in Wayne in recent years and is committed through 2014.
The Developing Horse Championships for seven to nine-year-old horses competing at Prix St. Georges level and for eight to 10-year-old horses competing at Grand Prix.
