DEVON, Pennsylvania, Sept. 29–Ashley Holzer’s likely last competition ride on Jewel’s Adelante was victorious when she won the Grand Prix Special Sunday while the USA’s Catherine Haddad-Staller showed the promise of her Mane Stream Hotmail in being runnerup.

The four-time Olympian for Canada who is based in New York and the 13-year-old Swedish Warmblood gelding (Don Schufro x Phaeton) scored 73.708 per cent after taking the Grand Prix Friday. Ashley took over the ride on the horse for a trio of CDIs in the northeast United States while the owner took time off for her third child. She gets the horse back this week.

Catherine Haddad-Staller and Hotmail, the 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Michellino x Havel) she brought with her when returned to live in the United States after 20 years in Germany, scored 70.375 per cent for second. The horse has become the top mount for Catherine of Califon, New Jersey. She sold Mane Stream Winyamaro on whom she was the U.S. team reserve for the 2010 World Equestrian Games.

Michael Barisone of Long Valley, New Jersey on Ellegria placed third on 69.500 per cent.

Kimberly Herslow of Stockton, New Jersey and Rosmarin won the Intermediaire I Freestyle on 75.275 per cent to complete a sweep of the small tour.
