LEXINGTON, Kentucky, Sept. 5–The U.S. Equestrian Federation Lifetime Achievement and Pegasus Medal of Honor awards nominations are due by Monday, Sept. 23.

The Lifetime Achievement Award winner will be presented with the Jimmy A. Williams trophy in recognition of the horseman or woman whose lifetime experience and accomplishments exemplify uncommon devotion to horse sport competition and whose equestrian career and horsemanship have continually elevated the sport’s excellence. The nominee must be living and retired from actively competing.

The Pegasus Medal of Honor Award recognizes individuals who have exhibited outstanding services to horses and the sport, have attracted people to the sport and advanced the popularity of the sport. The nominee must be living and be retired from actively competing.

Linda Zang, International Equestrian Federation 5* judge and U.S. team member at the 1980 alternate Olympics received the 2012 award.

Both awards will be presented at the 2014 Pegasus Awards Dinner Jan. 10.

Nominations can be submitted by USEF members in writing or via email to tlwatkins@usef.org and include nominee’s name, city and state of residence; discipline(s) and/or breed(s); reason for nomination.
