FRITZENS, Austria, July 13–Italy’s Vlentina Truppa became a double winner at the Manfred Swarovski Memorial Dressage CDI4* when she won the Grand Prix for the Freestyle with Fixdesign Eremo del Castegno with a personal best score on Saturday a day after claining the Grand Prix for the Special aboard Fixdesign Chablis.

Valentina and her Olympic mount, the 12-year-old Italian-bred gelding (Rohdiamant x Weltmeyer), were awarded 76.553 per cent for the win over Germany’s Dorothee Schneider and Kaiserkult TSF on 71.851 per cent and the United States Olympic combination of Tina Konyot of Palm City, Florida and Calecto V in third place on 70.787 per cent.

The award to Valentina and Eremo del Castegno eclipsed their previous best of 76.510 per cent at Munich, Germany in May, 2012.

Valentina and Fixdesign Chablis, the horse she rode to medal-winning performances as a Young Rider six years ago, won the Grand Prix for the Special on Friday.

Valentina and the 16-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding (Castro x Leonardo II) scored 71.170 per cent for the win over Germany’s Jill de Ridder and Wellington on 68.745 per cent and Austria’s Peter Gmoser and the American-bred Two to Tango in third on 68.553 per cent.

The Prix St. Georges was won by Austria’s Dr. Stefanie Palm and Royal Happiness with 71.711 per cent, Germany’s Dorothee Schneider and Fackeltanz OLD were second on 70.289 per cent and the European-based American Jennifer Hoffman and Rubinio NRW third on 70.237 per cent.
