Anna Kasprzak and Donnperignon moved into the top 10 for the first time on the International Equstrian Federation (FEI) dressage world rankings, the highest place for a Danish combination in the latest standings that were released Friday, the start of the Danish Championships.
Adelinde Cornelissen of the Netherlands and Jerich Parzival remained atop the rankings with 2,899 points as of the end of May with Germany’s Helen Langehanenberg and Damon Hill NRW holding firm in second place with 2,802 points. The German combination is competing this weekend in their national championships, defending the title the pair won in 2012.
Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro, Great Britain’s double gold medal pair from the London Olympics, were ranked third, no change from the previous month.
The 10th ranking of the 23-year-old Anna and the Finnish Warmblood gelding she began riding in late 2011 is their highest so far and the first time moving ahead of Denmark’s top ranked Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein and Digby, who were in 11th place.
Britain’s team gold medal rider Carl Hester recorded one of the biggest gains with Dances With Wolves, moving to 22nd place from 224th based on victories at Compiégne, France last week. He is still ranked 15th in the world on Uthopia, his Olympic mount.
