WIESBADEN, Germany, May 18–Isabell Werth rode Don Johnson to the first victory of the year for the pair by winning the Pfingst Turnier CDI4* Grand Prix Saturday.

Isabell and the 12-year-old Hanoverian gelding (Don Frederico x Werona x Warkant) scored 75.213 per cent for the win over fellow German Fabienne Lütkemeier on D’Agostino whose personal best score of 74.553 per cent put them in second place. Denmark’s Lone Bang Larson and Fitou L were third on 72.553 per cent.

For Isabell and Don Johnson it was their first victory since Vienna last September but have placed within the top five in their eight starts since then, including the World Cup Final a month ago.

German Young Rider star Sanneke Rothenberger competed Favourit in their first CDI, scoring 71.957 per cent for fourth place. Sanneke took over the ride last October from Tinne Vilhelmsson-Silfvén who competed the Rhinelander gelding on the Swedish team at the 2009 European Championships and the 2010 World Equestrian Games.
