“Firsts” were logged at the Horses & Dreams CDI4* in Hagen, Germany–Denmark’s Andreas Helgstrand rode Akeem in the first competition for the pair just three weeks after he and two others bought the gelding, and Steffen Peters brought Legolas for their first competition outside the United States.

The two “first” efforts were successful. Andreas and Akeem won both the Grand Prix and the Freestyle, but the rush job was obvious on occasion when he had to remember the dance steps for the high stepping 11-year-old Danish Warmblood.

Steffen was happy with their second placings in the same two classes as he and the 11-year-old Westfalen gelding snagged the same marks they had been getting in America.
