Nominations are being sought for the chair of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) Dressage Committee to which Frank Kemperman is eligible for reappointment to a second four-year term and for a successor to Anne Gribbons of the United States whose term expires this year.
Frank, who is from the Netherlands, manages the World Equestrian Festival in Aachen, Germany, the world’s premier horse show. He was appointed chairman of the policy-making Dressage Committee in 2009 after he headed up the Task Force that revamped the structure after the 2008 Olympic Games.
Anne Gribbons, who is a FEI 5* judge and was coach of the United States dressage team for three years until late 2012, was among the first group of six members appointed to the committee.
Other members of the Dressage Committee, in addition to Frank Kemperman and Anne Gribbons, are Thomas Baur of Germany as vice chairman; David Hunt of Great Britain; Hans-Christian Matthiesen of Denmark and Kyra Kyrklund of Finland.
The Task Force determined there should not be more than one member from the same nation.
Closing date for nominations is June. 15.
The position of chair is decided by the FEI General Assembly that is scheduled to meet in Montreux, Switzerland in November while the FEI Bureau will decide on Anne Gribbons’ replacement.
Maribel Alonso de Quinzaños of Mexico, a FEI 5* judge, is also leaving as vice chair of FEI Group V which includes Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Puetto Rico and Venezuela, and her replacement will be voted on by the General Assembly.
