A new Sport Horse Prospect Development Program was announced by the United States Dressage Federation Tuesday, a joint effort with Hassler Dressage and Dressage at Devon.

Created by the USDF, the new program is designed to bridge the educational gap in the development of dressage horses as they progress from showing in-hand to work under saddle and eventual competition. It will feature a live forum approach, focused on a correct, fundamental system for starting sport horse prospects.

The event is aimed at trainers, owners and breeders nationwide, with the goal of developing a consistent training foundation for all sport horse prospects.

The inaugural forum will be held at Apple Knoll Farm, in Millis, Massachusetts, Sept. 14-15.

Scott Hassler, U.S. Equestrian Federation F National Young Dressage Horse Coach, and Ingo Pape, a German breeder and horsemen, will lead the forum. The focus will be the transition of three-year-old prospects from in-hand to first year under saddle.
