‘S-HERTOGENBOSCH, Netherlands, Mar. 15–Adelinde Cornelissen rode Jerich Parzival to victory in the Indoor Brabant World Cup Grand Prix Friday, the last show in the annual global championship qualifying series before she goes to Sweden to seek her third straight World Cup title.
Adelinde and the 16-year-old KWPN gelding scored 79.979 per centto eke out a win over fellow Dutch rider Edward Gal and Glock’s Undercover on 78.617 per cent with Germany’s Isabell Werth and Don Johnson FRH on 75.872 per cent.
Adelinde and Parzival, the silver medal individual pair from last summer’s Olympics in London, have already earned a starting place in the World Cup at Gothenberg, Sweden where they will seek to win the title for the third year in a row.
Edward and Interfloor Next One, an 18-year-old KWPN gelding that he has been competing at CDI Grand Prix for six years, won the CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle with a score of 78.650 per cent.
Fellow Dutch rider Danielle Heijkoop and Siro placed second on 78.525 per cent, a personal best result by far for the pair that have been competing at Grand Prix for less than a year. Hans Peter Minderhoud and Lord of Loxley were third on 73.950 per cent for third place.
