LEXINGTON, Kentucky, Feb. 21–Entry and invitation qualifications for the inaugural United States Dressage Finals to be held in November were announced Thursday by the U.S. Dressage Federation.
Champion and Reserve Champions at each of the nine Great American Insurance Group/USDF Regional Dressage Championships, who have achieved a minimum score, filed a “Declaration of Intent” and are U.S> citizens will be eligible to compete.
Wild card invitations will also be issued to high scoring competitors in the regional championships who are not otherwise eligible for the Finals presented by Adequan scheduled for Nov. 7-10 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.
Adult amateur and open riders will compete at Training Level through Grand Prix.
The USDF Finals are the second national championships–the U.S. Equestrian Federation stages championships of of Grand Prix, Intermediate, Brentina Cup, Young Rider, Juniors and Ponies with combinations qualifying by scores irrespective of geographic region. Developing Horse and Developing Grand Prix championships are also held in conjunction with Young Horse Championships.
Non-U.S. citizens can compete at the USDF regionals but only at the Young Horse Championships.
