MELBOURNE, Australia, Nov. 16–Australia’s veteran combination of Heath Ryan and the 16-year-old stallion Regardez Moi that have campaigned on both sides of the Pacific for almost seven years, won the Equitana World Cup Grand Prix Friday, beating the Olympic team combination of Mary Hanna and Sancette.
Heath and the Oldenburg stallion (Rubinstein x Chlotilde x Consul) scored 66.830 per cent with a high award of 70.000 per cent from Great Britain’s Stephen Clarke and 63.404 per cent from Jan Bird of New Zealand.
Mary Hanna and Sancette who rode on the Australian team at this summer’s London Games placed second on 66.021 per cent with David Shoobridge and 00 Seven third on 64.638 per cent.
All 10 starting combinations were Australian.
Heath and Regardez Moi began competing at Grand Prix in 2007 and in 2009 represented Australia at the World Cup Final in Las Vegas.
