LAUSANNE, Switzerland, Oct. 10–Olympic double gold medalist Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro stayed atop the International Equestrian Federation’s world rankings for the second straight month, according to standings posted Wednesday.
Charlotte and the 10-year-old Dutch warmblood gelding had a total of 2,867 points, unchanged from the previous month when the pair became the first from Great Britain to lead the rankings.
Adelinde Cornelissen of the Netherlands and Jerich Parzival that had held the top spot for 13 months before being supplanted by Charlotte and Valegro stayed at No. 2.
The only change in top 10 rankings were Austria’s Victoria Max Theurer and Augustin OLD moving up to 8th place while Germany’s Ulla Salgeber and Herzruf’s Erbe slipped back to ninth.
In the post-Olympic month, Edward Gal and Glock’s Undercover climbed to 11th place from 17th but the biggest gain was for Anabel Balkenhol and Dablino FRH who competed for Germany as an individual combination at the London Games shot up to 18th place from 92nd.
