SAUGERTIES, New York, Sept. 16–Lars Petersen rode Mariett to their fourth victory in their last five starts this year to capture the Grand Prix Special at the New England Dressage Association’s Fall Festival World Cup event Sunday.
Lars, who is based in Wellington, Florida but rides for Denmark, and the 14-year-old Danish Warmblood mare (Come Back II x Zendi x Sidney) scored 69.600 per cent to win the Special. Lars and Mariett won at West Palm Beach last March and twice at Saugerties last month.
Lars began competng Mariett owned by Marcia Pepper, at CDI during last winter’s Florida circuit.
Cesar Parra of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, and Van the Man were second on 68.844 per cent and Canada’s David Marcus and Don Kontes third on 67.400 per cent.
