FRITZENS, Austria, June 9–Dorothee Schneider, fresh from success on Royal Diva at the German Championships, won the Grand Prix qualifier for the freestyle aboard Looking Forward at the 17th Manfred Swarovski Memorial CDI4* Saturday.
Dorothee and the 11-year-old Westfalen mare scored 69.234 per cent with Spain’s Jose Daniel Martin Dockx on Grandioso second on 67.936 per cent and Michelle Hagman of Sweden on Rudi’s Memory third on 65.872 per cent.
The Grand Prix was sweet and sour for two Colombian competitors seeking to earn Olympic qualifyng scores.
Constanza Jaramillo and Kupfermann were successful in attaining the first of their two scores of 64 per cent but Marco Bernal an Akzentus fell short. Constanza and Kupfermann will compete at Lipica, Slovenia next week in their last opportunty to obtain the required second score before the June 17 deadline.
