STADL PAURA, Austria, April 7–Austria’s Victoria Max-Theurer rode Augustin OLD to capture the Grand Prix Saturday against a large international field of riders gearing up for the summer’s Olympic calendar at this traditional Easter competition.
Victoria and the 12-year-old Oldenburg stallion (August der Starke x Weinrubina x Rohdiamant) that is her likely mount for the rider’s third Olympics scored 75.872 per cent and was placed first by all five judges.
Johansen Sidsel of Denmark and Schianto were second on 72.170 per cent while Sweden’s Patrik Kittel on Don’t Forget was third with 69.830 per cent.
Australia’s Kristy Oatley on Clive, in only their second show after a two-year break, were fifth on 69.149 per cent, the best result so far for the combination.
