OLDENBURG, Germany, Nov. 12–German star Kristina Sprehe rode Desperados to victory in the Oldenburg CDI4* Grand Prix Saturday, posting a personal best for the combination that began competing the senior circuit three months ago.

Kristina, 25, and the 10-year-old Hanoverian gelding (De Niro x Wie Musik x Wolkenstein II) placed first by all five judges in scoring 75.723 per cent with Dutch combinations Leida Collins-Strijk and On Top second on 73.596 per cent and Sander Marijnissen on Moedwil third on 72.106 per cent.

The score for the German pair surpassed their previous best of 71.766 per cent at Verden, Germany, in June, which was the first senior international competition for the combination.

They have also competed in the Under-25 division for much of this year, including the World Equestrian Festival in Aachen, Germany, and Rotterdam during the European Championships.

Kristina was a member of the gold medal team at the European Pony Championships in 2003, won team silver and gold and individual bronzes as a junior at the European Championships in 2003 and 2004, and in 2006 and 2007 was a member of the Young Rider teams that won gold and silver as well as individual silver and bronze medals.
