LEXINGTON, Kentucky, Nov. 8–Six Elite Dressage Pre-Olympic Games three-day training sessions/clinics with U.S. coach Anne Gribbons and Steffen Peters have been scheduled in California and Florida during winter, funded by the U.S. Equestrian Federaiton and USET Foundation.
The focus on riders invited under criteria established by the USEF High Performance Dressage Committee will be on preparing potential team riders for the 2012 Olympic Selection Trials and the London Games.
The schedule is:
Dec. 9-11 – California
Jan. 6-8 – Florida
Jan. 13-15 – California
Feb. 10-12 – Florida
Mar. 15-17 – Florida
Apr. 13-15 – California
The clinics will concentrate on athlete/horse combinations with international competition experience and the prospect of contributing to a team or individual medal.
Anne Gribbons said she and Steffen “will focus on the performances of our Grand Prix horses, enhancing their work during training, warm-up and while performing their dressage test. We hope to offer advice and positive criticism which will further polish the performances, increase the confidence of horses and riders and ultimately improve the scores of our elite athlete/horse combinations.”
Betsy Juliano, a member of the USET Foundation’s National Advisory Committee, made the clinics possible.
