OTTAWA, Ontario, Aug. 27–Canada’s dressage team for the Pan American Games was announced Friday.
Nominated riders and horses for the Pan Am dressage in Guadalajara, Mexico, Oct. 16-19 are:
— Diane Creech of Caistor Cente, Ontario, on Robbie W, ownd by Douglas Leatherdale;
— Tom Dvorak of Hillsburgh, Ontario, on Viva’s Salieri W or Corrigan. Viva’s Salieri is owned by Augustine and Christine Walch and Corrigan by Karen Thompson-Harry;
— Tina Irwin of Stouffville, Ontario on Winston, owned by Mary Ellen Horgan, and
— Crystal Kroetch of Calgary, Alberta, on Lymrix, owned by Crystal Kroetch.
Alternates are Roberta Byng-Morris of Godmanchester, Quebec City on Reiki Tyme, owned by Roberta Byng-Morris and Jaimie Holland of Caledon, Ontario on Fleurina, owned by Jaimie Holland.
“We have an exceptionally strong team nominated to the Pan American Games this year,” said Gina Smith, chef d’équipe for the Canadian Dressage Team. “I am confident that we will reach our goal of qualifying for the Olympic Games with the consistency that the riders have shown through the selection process. We have had excellent support from our technical leader, Markus Gribbe, and continue to improve with his help.”
