
ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, Aug. 21–Exquis Nadine who competed in Olympics, World Equestrian Games, multiple World Cup Finals and European Championships, was ridden by Hans Peter Minderhoud in his last competition Sunday, the musical freestyle at the European Championships.
Nadine is a 16-year-old KWPN mare by Partout out of a Roemer dam.
Hans Peter, tears streaming down his face, left the arena to resounding cheers from the overwhelming Dutch crowd.
Hans Peter and the mare competed at the 2008 Olympics on the Dutch team, the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, World Cup Finals in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, in 2008, Las Vegas in 2009 and in Leipzig in 2011. He also was on the Dutch team at the Europeans in Turin as well as this year.
Owner Anthony Kies said, “She has a lot of miles, a lot of air miles.
“She now gets a full pension.”
Nadine will retire to Kies’ farm.
