LEXINGTON, Kentucky, Aug. 4–Young Rider Isabelle Leibler was awarded the Fiona Baan “Pursuit of Excellence” Memorial Trophy by earning the highest combined average score in the three dressage tests at the North American Young Rider Championships.

Isabelle of Greenwich, Connecticut, and her own 14-year-old, Westfalen gelding, Watson 108, won the Individual Test with a score of 67.289 per cent, the Freestyle with a score of 74.000 per cent and 68.079 per cent in the Team Test with a 68.079 per cent. They won gold in the two individual rides and a team bronze.

This award, announced by the U.S. Dressage Federation, has been presented since 1994.

It is the legacy of Fiona Baan, who for almost 30 years, worked for the U.S. Equestrian Team. She was U.S. Dressage Team leader for the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, the 1992 Olympics, in Barcelona and the 1987 Pan American Games.
