ROTTERDAM, The Netherlands, July 29–Anky van Grunsven, Tineke Bartels and Imke Schellekens-Bartels will highlights a three-hour gala, “There’s Something About Dressage,” in a Saturday night spectacular at the European Championships Aug. 17-21.

The entertainment program in the Kralingse Bos will showcase dressage pas de deux of famous equestrian families, the famous Friesians Train led by Christa Laarakkers and the new “Emotion” performance of Frenchman Lorenzo.

Highlights:

-=Tineke Bartels, Director of Sport, will ride with her daughter, Imke, in a family pas de deux, along with Marlies and Coby van Baalen, Laurens and Leunis van Lieren and Alex and Diederik van Silfhout;

–Frank and Isolde Bock will perform a pas de deuz with their camels, including flying changes;

–A four-in-hand pas de deux led by IJsbrand Chardon;

–A torch pas de deux by Anky van Grunsven and Imke Schellekens-Bartels;

–Friesians Train led by Christa Laarakkers that was much admired when performed at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, and

–Lorenzo the Flying Frenchman with 12 grays but will present his new show “Emotion.”

Free style composer Joost Peters will arrange the musical content.

The Dressage Championships include Nations Cup Grand Prix Wednesday and Thursday, Grand Prix Special Saturday and the Grand Prix Freestyle to Music on Sunday.

The venue includes a new grand stand and a wide variety of entertainment and many exhibitions and clinics are scheduled throughout the event.
