MILTON. Ontario, June 24–Canada’s Victoria Winter and Proton captured the Grand Prix at the Milton International Classic Friday, the second of two back-to-back World Cup qualifiers.

Victoria and Proton, a 17-year-old gelding owned by Neil Ishoy, scored 67.766 per cent while Canadian Cheryl Meisner on Paganini was second on 65.410 per cent and the USA’s Susan Dutta of Wellington, Florida, and Currency DC were third on 65.182 per cent.

The Freestyle for which North American League World Cup points will be awarded, is scheduled for Sunday. In the North American League, two World Cup qualifiers were scheduled for Canada and 10 in the United States in the 2011/2012 season.

The top three places in the Pan American Games qualifying Prix St. Georges were filled by Canadians–Diane Creech on Robbie W with 71.404 per cent, Tina Irwin and Winston with 68.123 per cent and Tom Dvorak and Viva’s Salieri W with 68.158 per cent.
