Fuego Wins Wiesbaden CDI4* Grand Prix

WIESBADEN, Germany, June 11–Juan Manuel Muñoz Diaz rode Fuego de Cardenas to victory in the CDI4* Grand Prix qualifier for the Freestyle Saturday in only their second competition since the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky last year where the Spanish pair became fan favorites.

Juan and the 13-year-old PRE stallion scored 73.085 per cent with Great Britain’s Laura Bechtolsheimer on Andretti H second on 72.489 per cent and Spain’s Claudio Castilla Ruiz on Jade de MV in third on 70.404 per cent.

The winning Spanish combination–the horse was identified by its birth name of Fuego XII at the WEG and finished 5th in the Grand Prix and the Freestyle and 4th in the Special in Kentucky–won at Saumur, France, two months ago.
